The last time I went to a casino, I walked in with $100 and left with $135. My brother walked in with $100 and left with a little over $150. How? We left within 30 minutes. Why? I know the odds of losing the money I gained. I know the card probability of beating the house. I can tell you that you will lose at slot machines. The mere fact that we went to the casino for fun was instantly trumped by the fact that we were “in the green.”
Death by Passion
In 2005, Steve Jobs spoke to the graduates of Stanford University. In doing so, Jobs articulated one of the most impactful addresses to a graduating class in history. His parting words included: “And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

Much of the anger stemmed from the former leader of Iran, the Shah, being admitted into the United States for cancer treatment (the Shah was ousted from power after the Iranian Revolution).

As I came around the corner in front of the former basilica of the Medici family, I saw a crowd of around a 1000 or so people listening to the music. I started to move to get a better view of the stage as the song ended and I heard the singer say, “Isn’t it sad that the United States Government will not acknowledge climate change?” I froze.
